watercolor techniques
Practice- Use a small piece of watercolor paper to practice a variety of watercolor techniques
1. Choose between a Janet Fish inspired still life (featuring transparent or translucent objects) or a landscape.
*Landscapes should be based on a photo that YOU have taken, or a combination of at least 3 different photos if they are not your own.
2. Tape a piece of watercolor paper to a board
3. Lightly sketch the image in pencil
4. Paint the background first, taking care to layer color in small amounts.
5. Use a variety of watercolor techniques to add depth to your painting. Be sure to mix colors to achieve realism.
